Visit to the Monk's Cellar
The Monk's Cellar is an authentic medieval cellar in Nyborg. The cellar is usually closed to the public and only opens in connection with special events.
Special events can include, for example, a Beer walk, where the Monk's Cellar is one of several stops. It can also be a lunch where, for example,
medieval-inspired dish is served. Additionally, a lecture on the medieval use of healing herbs is held, while guests themselves pick these herbs for their
salad. Other themes depending on the season can be implemented.

Add on
It is possible to add a Beer walk, where the Monk’s Cellar is one of several stops. It is also possible to add a tour at Nyborg Distillery, where you can
have a guided tour and a taste of their local and organic produce such as whisky, gin or rum. It is also possible to make a stop at one the old merchants
houses in Nyborg for a tasting with other produce such as the famous rygeost (smoked cheese), which is one of only two cheese which originates from
Denmark.

Fun fact
The Monks' Cellar is located in a red brick building on the corner of Adelgade and Korsbrødregade and is one of the oldest preserved houses in Nyborg.
The corner house with its impressive vaulted ceilings is presumed to date back to the 14th century.
