Cycle Route 79: Nyborg - Korinth

Total distance: 64.1 km from the tourist office in Nyborg to Korinth - the junction where Route 79 meets Route 51 to Faaborg.

NYBORG:

Nyborg, a royal and governmental city in the Middle Ages, is the starting point of the tour. The oldest parts of Nyborg Castle date back to around 1170, but it has undergone numerous renovations. Nyborg also houses other medieval buildings, such as the Convent of the Cross Brothers and the Mayor's Mansion, which is now a museum. The route passes Holckenhavn Fjord, where the Great Belt cuts almost two kilometers inland. Here, there is a rich population of various waterfowl, and in recent years, eagles have made their home. Please note: Nyborg Castle is currently closed due to a major renovation project (Read more here).

Note: The first part of the route from Nyborg follows Route 51 until you reach the intersection of Egemosevej and Langemosevej east of Ørbæk. Here, Route 79 begins its signage.
